At a glance

Quick summary

  • Here’s a list of my favorite free plugins
  • All of them are either free or freemium (but, we use the free version on this site)
  • Many of these are a bit less common, so it’s worth skimming the bullets for each!

1 // Definitely Allow Mobile Zooming

  • If visitors can’t zoom in on mobile (by pinching), that poses a couple of problems: user experience and accessibility issues.
  • This tiny plugin quickly enables zooming across your entire site. No settings or options.
  • Simply install and activate!

2 // User Switching

  • This plugin allows you to quickly swap between user accounts in WordPress at the click of a button.
  • You’ll be instantly logged out and logged in as your desired user. This is handy for test environments where you regularly log out and in between different accounts, or for administrators who need to switch between multiple accounts.
  • Only users with the ability to edit other users can switch user accounts. By default this is only Administrators on single site installations. Passwords are not (and cannot be) revealed!

3 // Temporary Login Without Password

  • Create secure, self-expiring, automatic login links for WordPress.
  • Useful for giving others access to your website without needing to create new accounts
  • Great for giving developers / other support folks access!

4 // Advanced Ads

  • Simple tool for injecting ads throughout your site.
  • Advanced Ads is in use on this post! See:

5 // Easy Table of Contents

  • A user friendly, featured focused plugin which allows you to insert a table of contents into your posts, pages and custom post types.
  • The table of contents at the top of this post was automatically inserted by the Easy Table of Contents plugin!

6 // Forminator

  • Forminator is the easy-to-use WordPress form builder plugin for every website and situation.
  • Forminator’s drag and drop visual builder makes it easy to setup and add forms to your WordPress website.
  • You can create email optin forms, contact forms, quizzes, and more.

7 // Rank Math SEO

  • Rank Math’s host of intelligent features bring top SEO capabilities
  • I’ve found that Rank Math is easier to use and better looking than any other SEO plugin (including Yoast)
  • If you already use Yoast, you can easily import your settings into Rank Math

8 // Duplicate Page

  • Duplicate Posts, Pages and Custom Posts easily with a single click.
  • This is an incredible time-saver, and one you probably didn’t even know you needed!
